The following is a complete list of Grands Prix which have been a part of the FIA World Championship since its inception in 1950.
At the end of the 2009 season, 820 World Championship Grands Prix will have been held including the Indianapolis 500 which was a part of the World Championship from 1950 until 1960.
Major auto racing events are usually named Grands Prix, a tradition dating back to the first decade of the 20th Century and the Grand Prix motor racing of the 1920s and 1930s.
