  Garmin portable friction dashboard is great January 8, 2009
I purchased one of these several months ago for myself. My daughter saw it on the dash of my car and said she would like one too. I bought her one for Christmas. It really stays put on the dash no matter how fast you turn a corner or stop. It is so much better than the windshield mount. I would highly suggest this to everyone no matter what kind of car you have. I have a Dodge Durango SUV and a Mustang GT convertible and it works wonderfully in both.

I purchased this mount to replace the suction cup window mount that came with my Nuvi 660. Unfortunately, when placed on my F-150 dashboard, my Nuvi 660 shakes and makes looking at the display annoying. Went back to the window mount. Other than the shake, the unit performed as described.

I was so pleased with my first one, I bought 2 more of them for my kids. The lockable swivel mount holds my Nuvi 750 in place, and the flexible, weighted "wings" make it easy to position it anywhere I want it, even in between the pillar and the dashboard shroud of my Honda. The wings even fold upward if you want yo store it in a small area or pouch. I fully recommend it.

Garmin friction mount, very easy to use anywhere on my dash, never moves, totaly adjustable for viewing at all angles, GPS removes easily for storage, mount removes easily for storage.

Have used a friction base before and found that the base works well and GPS stays in place and no window suction cup marks.
