Good watch but the some design flaws January 7, 2009
I primarily bought the watch because I liked the black dial and the compass functionality. It certainly delivers in these areas but there are a couple of things where is falls short of expectations.
First the good stuff - it looks good (if you did not like the looks you wouldn't be reading this) and the compass works pretty well (calibration is easy too).
I've never used the tide indicator but I read that it requires regular adjustments so I think that's a slight negative as well.
Now to the bad stuff - The temperature reading is totally useless while wearing the watch. I don't know where they put the sensor but it looks like its almost in contact with the skin. You have to unstrap the watch and wait for a few minutes to get a temperature reading.
Secondly the crown/buttons on the right side of the watch are very low and they will dig into the back of your hand when you bend it backward.
The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is that I knew about the shortcomings of the temperature indicator before buying this watch so I am not factoring that in this rating.

This must be the greatest product of the year and at a very reasonable price to beat.
The tide, temp and compass feature works perfectly, provided you follow the instruction and calibrate, especially for the tide and compass feature.
The watch looks great on the wrist and it is very intuitive in the usage. Even you do not need the features, the look itself deserves the price tag.
Greatly recommended for adventurous people.

Great watch with nice style...
(+) Style - if you like big watches.
(+) Cool functions - Tides, Temperature, and Compass
(+) Price - has the look of a much more expensive watch.
(-) A bit heavy, but not too bad and I easily got used to it.
(-) Need to be away from buildings and car for the compass to be most accurate.
Overall: This watch delivered everything I was expecting... I primarily got it for the style, but I use the tide tracker for kayaking and the temperature feature is pretty neat, but not really useful unless you take the watch off and let is sit to return to ambient. I am very pleased with my choice.
Processing and delivery was done in a timely manner. I didn't pay extra for express delivery and got the watch in about 4 business days from the opposite coast.
