I have owned over 10 ironmans over the years and one thing I know for sure, the watch band is going to break. The point at which they will break is variable, some less than a year, others more than a year. The problem with this watch is that the band cannot be replaced. Consequently, when the band does break and it will break just like mine did after a little more than a year of use, you have to toss it. Only buy this watch if you plan on owning a disposable watch.
FYI, I have contacted Timex (via email) numerous times addressing this issue and have yet to receive a response.

I think this is the best running watch Timex makes and I've been using the non-iPod-compatible one for a few years. The band is the most comfortable one I've ever worn and the watch is, like the name, sleek. I love the two interval timers and total run chrono feature. It's durable enough to wear running, swimming, biking, camping, or whatever. I really like the slick all black styling too.
Now add the iPod function to it and you have an awesome product. You have to pay attention in chrono mode whether to press and hold or press and release depending on what function you want, but you get used to it pretty fast.
Overall, I love this watch and the iPod remote function is more convenient than I would have thought.

It Works!!! I found that this device does work. Use it for control of 2nd gen I pod 8 gig nano. must be within 10 feet. And accurate time.
Makes running on the treadmill safer! November 23, 2008
I am currently in Afghanistan and its getting cold! Have been running on the treadmill indoors. Was reaching for my armband to change songs on my Ipod and almost took a tumble. Saw this watch and ordered it. Seems to work well so far. Makes the treadmill much safer. Watch is a smaller than I expected. On bigger guys it looks really small. Go Gators!

I love it!!! Works great and it is so nice to be able to skip to the next song or change the volume right at my wrist. No more twisting all around wasting energy trying to get to my ipod to change the song on my long runs. It's also great because I can use my nike+ arm band on one arm to keep track of my pace and distance and still use this to go through my music. I highly recommend it. :-)
