Not so complete... October 4, 2008 I bought this book based on the "Complete" description. Yes, it does have hundreds of shots of cars throughout the history of the modern era of Formula 1 (1950-2007). Unfortunately, many of these images are of marginal quality or have been seen over and over in other publications. Granted, it is primarily a book of photographs, but I am particularly disappointed in the writing that accompanies each year's chapter. For example, the most recent season (2007) is reviewed in typical British tabloid-style about the McLaren cheating scandal. The verdict has long been in and I don't want to read that it was "circumstantial evidence" that caused poor McLaren to get kicked out of the constructor's championship and penalized with the $100,000,000 fine. McLaren's paying of Ferrari's legal fees (and more) as well as making a public apology pretty much puts paid to the "circumstantial" claim. Anyway, if you want to see a thumbnail photo of (nearly) every F1 car ever raced, this is your book. If you want a "Complete" book of Formula One, look elsewhere.
wonderful photos January 19, 2007 Good quality of text and photos. Perharp I'd like more information about circuits

I bought this book for a friend for Christmas. He absolutely loved it. It gives a comprehensive view of Formula One from its inception. I recommend it for any Formula One enthusiast.
Formula-1 used to be the best car racing to watch and see..... October 4, 2005 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you really miss the good days of F-1, this is a great book to learn, to enjoy, to discuss, to dream, to get back in time, to smile, to think....
Great book, a must-buy for every F-1 fan. Nascar, CART, Indy fans should stay away from it. They wouldn't understand it.
I suggest the works of Mike Lawrence ( a great seasoned English journalist, specialist --oh god-- in Shakespeare and F-1) if you want to go deeper in F-1.
A must have for every Motor Racing enthusiast July 1, 2004 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book is truly worth it. It is a nice coffee table book that you would want to have if you are a real motor racing enthusiast (it's a bit heavy though). It features (or it tries to feature) all the cars that the teams used from 1950 to 2002. Really spectacular! A must buy book for any Formula One fan. The downside of this book is that there are only a few writeups per year of formula one. More pictures, nice to look at when you're sipping coffee or tea
