| Customer Reviews:
Excellent all the way to the real roots July 17, 2007 This book was excellent, very well written. The great thing about it is that Nye understands the true roots of Grand Prix racing and fully integrates the pioneering days of motorsports from the first event - the Grand Prize Races of Savannah, Georgia - rather than beginning with Watkins Glen and thereby missing the roots of the Grand Prix. Nye understands that Grand Prix racing in America began in 1908 with Savannah, and salutes the early race for its significant impact on early auto manufacturing and racing internationally.
