Product Description
This book is designed to fill the reader with the confidence to plan and undertake a journey that he might otherwise not have thought possible. It will appeal to the person who has the means, both financially and otherwise, to consider a motorcycle adventure, as well as to those who might never be able to do so. In this way it will be both inspirational and aspirational. The book delivers a practical and simple approach to planning for and embarking on a successful adventure on two wheels. A motorcycle journey of this sort is a significant undertaking and guiding the reader in the best possible way through the planning process is where the book?s unique difference lies, providing insightful information, handy tips and specific, relevant information that first-time adventure riders will need to know.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars An excellent addition to the genre   December 27, 2008
It was very easy for me to arrive at my rating for this book; it's better than Riding the World: The Biker's Road Map for a Seven Continent Adventure but not quite as good as the Adventure Motorcycling Handbook, 5th: Worldwide Motorcycling Route & Planning Guide (Trailblazer).

However, I certainly recommend buying this book in addition to the AMH, especially if you truly are planning a long-distance motorcycle ride. The book is well-designed and has many fantastic photos from around the world. The advice is very helpful, and even if it doesn't cram quite as much actual advice in as the AMH, it's still an extremely valuable resource. Well-written and researched, this book deserves to be on your shelf.

Even if you're only dreaming of a long ride before you get this book, actually reading it and poring over the beautiful pictures will push you over the brink. Back to planning my route...

4 out of 5 stars adventure riding book review   October 8, 2008

Having ridden off-road the length of Baja in Mexico and done other adventure riding, I've been looking for books on the subject. This book seems to be one of the better ones out there, and covers a majority of the information needed to have a successful ride in and to other countries. The photography is also very good. I recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Adventure Motorcycling by R. Wick   September 16, 2008

This is an excellent book for anyone wanting to get into adventure motorcycling (or just dreaming about it). It has all the info you need to get started planning and what you need to know before you go as well as what you need to take with you. It is well thought out and written, and even includes three ride summaries in the back. Lots of great color photos too. I recommend this book for everyone.
