 Shouldn't have hit stores January 23, 2008
I know that it would be really hard to make a UFC game that stands up to what the sport can provide but this game is no where near what it should be. If nothing else at least use all the buttons on the controller! There are four buttons that don't do anything, in a UFC based game every button and every button combination should do something. There is no stamina system to it at all. Opponents are just as easy or as har to knock out in the first round as they are in the third. If you or your opeeonent lands a submission it's tapout city immediatly with no chance of fighting out of it. Each fighter has two kicks two punches and one to three combos that they can throw over and over and over in a monotonous street fighter without special moves way. Most of my matches end in the first round. I know it a small thing but it bothers me that at the end of a match Bruce Buffer doesn't say "and the winner in the first round by TKO" he just says for the winner and the name. It lacks so much. The graphics are decent and there are a lot of fighters to choose in a weird there's only three fighting styles way. The story mode is horrible you do something for three seconds, loading screen, three seconds, loading screen. It looks like they were going to put in some minni games but got lazy and instead just have a little text that says fighting or running or training and then an obligatory you win or lose. I can't believe UFC would put it's name on it.

This wasn't the game I was expecting to get. The covers where totally differnt and my boyfriend already had the game that I recived... but he still loves the game =]

I have only played it a few times, but my husband seems to like it. He does mixed martial arts, and said the game seemed to mimic real-life martial arts quite well.

I usually don't write reviews, but I am just too dissatisfied with this game. Having played UFC Throwdown and Pride FC for the PS2, I was expecting more from UFC Sudden Impact.
Pros:
- There are more fighting styles available than in the previous version for creating a fighter.
- The new side mount, fence mount, and long range positions add variety to the fight.
Cons:
- Adjustments can't be made after completing a created fighter's training, unlike in Pride FC where your fighter is FULLY customizable.
- Even at the hardest level, the computer controlled fighters don't know how to block.
Overall, if you like fighting against walking punching bags, buy UFC Sudden Impact. If you like a challenge and create your own fighter, buy Pride FC.
